Large black spots appear behind the oscillating fan blades. She stares at them. They seem to notice her, too. The perfect, round voids don’t introduce themselves; they do not ask permission before cramming themselves beneath her eyelids as she blinks. Upon opening her eyes, the spots affix themselves to the ceiling again before diving back in with another blink.
