Sonic had never intended for Shadow to find out he was trans. It was an accident, really. A bad deck in Sonic's hands, given to him by fate with no remorse. He had expected Shadow to sneer with his nose in the air, slurs on the tip of his tongue. He was from the 60's, after all.
What he didn't expect was for Shadow to get hard. Right in front of his very eyes.
Or: Shadow walks in on Sonic and finds out he's trans... things happen. Steamy things.

Summary
Sonic struggles to grapple through taking care of Tails and the recent trauma of ending things with his ex, Jet. Just when he thought he'd be alone forever, a black and red hedgehog sweeps him off his feet and makes sure he knows he's loved.
But Jet's not gone. His possessiveness causes Sonic's paranoia to worsen, resulting in his own mental torture. Everyone thinks he's okay, but he's not.
Not like Sonic would ever admit to it. He's fine.
He has to be.
