Summary
Mike dealt with his breakup surprisingly well. When he rebuffed Harvey’s offers of talking about what happened it appeared that he genuinely didn’t need to talk about it. He’d say things like “It’s for the best” and “It was only a matter of time” and he’d smile and change the subject and Harvey would let him.
Mike was happy. He was admitted to the Bar. He was a Junior Partner. And though neither of them said it he’d been certain that Mike had to know that as soon as it was acceptable Mike would become a Senior Partner and then one day down the track their names would be side by side on the wall (with or without Louis, preferably without).
There was a plan. An unspoken one, true, but a plan nonetheless. One that started to crumble the day Harvey came home to find Mike sitting on the couch, in the dark, sipping a whiskey as he stared off into space.Bookmarked by Hrts4Lecter

Summary
“Did I ever tell you about my dad?”
“I think you know the answer to that question.”
So Harvey does. He tells Mike that his dad was a musician, a saxophone player, and that he played with all the greats because they all loved him.
Mike may be too stoned to react, but he isn’t too stoned to realize.
It was five years ago now but he remembers. He remembers looking up the sheet music when he was planning his tattoo. He remembers seeing lyrics by Riley Ellis, music by Gordon Specter in the top right hand corner. He even remembers meeting Harvey and being amused by the coincidence of the surname.
But it’s not a coincidence. It can’t be.- Language:

Summary
Mike has lived in New York all his life, so he's not unaccustomed to seeing famous people in real life. He once stood in line at a coffee shop behind Hugh Jackman. He saw Matt Damon at a restaurant once. One time he got into a cab that Anne Hathaway was exiting. He doesn't really get star struck. Except now apparently. Harvey Specter just walked into his shop and Mike's body is reacting, heart beating hard in his chest, breathing becoming more difficult.
Thankfully Mike is distracted from his minor freak out by someone attempting to rob him.
[or: Harvey is a famous actor who walks into the bookshop that Mike owns, and yes, this is exactly what you think it is.]

Summary
Harvey’s thirty-ninth birthday passed without fanfare. There was no party, and only a couple of cards - one from Jessica and one from Donna. It was just the way Harvey liked it. In the back of his mind was a nagging sense of uncertainty, of … foreboding.
AU - At the age of 18, your name is put into a database. At the age of 39, if you're not already married, you're Contracted. Harvey turns 39, hoping against hope he'll be overlooked. He's not. He gets Contracted, to Mike.
