It registers that he’s lost track of where Theo went until he feels that fire creep up his wings and hears his totem pop. The fire is really weak, not much steam being left in his body after such a lack of care for the limbs. The next part is weird though. Theo isn’t attacking him anymore, he’s just paused behind him where the cart he’d just pulled off was. The weak fire fades out, it was barely there anyways, and Flame forces out a single cough at the smoke. That’s when it hits Flame. Theo is staring at his wings.
Theo is an avian. Of course Flame’s unkempt wings would pose an issue to an avian.
“Your wings,” Theo says, carefully talking a step closer. His voice has lost the playful edge it normally carried, “I- Void below man- When’s the last time you took care of them?” His voice was shaky, mainly out of disbelief. Theo doesn’t know how he didn’t notice it sooner. Their state is terrible.

When Flame decided to become a hero, he knew it would come at a price. Starting over on his own, after hitting rock bottom, would be his hardest battle yet. The worst loss wasn’t anything material, though. It wasn’t giving up his name, his sword, his everything, to have his identity revealed and criminal record expunged so he could be given a clean slate.
No, the worst part was the people he left behind. People he would never be able to save, hero or otherwise.
A hand clamped over his mouth, smothering an instinctual shout and yanking him back.
“Don’t scream. I’ve got enough energy stockpiled to blow this whole building up. I’m sure you’ll survive, but all those civilians you care so much about now– Eh, they might not be so lucky.”
Slowly, with no sharp movements, Flame looked over his shoulder. He just had to be sure this was who he thought it was.
Wemmbu smiled. “Let’s talk, bro.”
Really great. Especially since the last time he saw Wemmbu, he had almost died.

A quiet but noticeable whooshing sound echoed across the pillars, indicating someone had come through the portal and putting a halt to Minute’s thoughts. He slowly pushed himself up off the rough ground, groaning slightly as the sensation of lying on uneven terrain for so long finally caught up to him.
As he started to walk over to the entrance, he mumbled his usual monologue to himself quietly, practising it even though he’d had it memorised since forever. He gingerly stepped down into his two-way door system before strutting up to the window into the entrance room.
“What brings you to the En- Whoa, what happened?”
Minute’s spiel was instantly cut off when he saw the player he was talking to. A tall seraphim was curled up on the floor, cradling his shoulder, which seemed to be leaking a lot of golden blood.

For Kokichi, who is afraid of heights, that sounds more or less… bone-deep terrifying, but it’ll be worth it to see Rantaro happy. The guy’s such a thrillseeker, even if he acts too nonchalant to seem like it. “The whole point of amusement parks are the rides, Taro! We gotta get on!”
Kokichi doesn’t miss the way Rantaro’s eyes widen as he looks over the attraction, and it might be a trick of the light but Kokichi thinks that Rantaro’s pupils also dilate. Cute. The look quickly disappears however as he turns to look down at Kokichi, his brow creasing.
“Are you sure you don’t want to try something more low-key? I think I saw a carousel over there.”
“Hey!” Kokichi puffs his cheeks out. He forgot that he told Rantaro about his fear of heights already—he does like trusting Rantaro, Rantaro’s definitely earned it and all, but even still… How annoying that he can’t just treat his beloved without being reminded of himself! “Did I say wanted to ride a carousel? I hate having a minion who talks back, you know!”
