“Oh, I’d forgotten how you wore your hair,” Azhdaha laughed, running the loose, choppily cut strands between his fingers. “You could style it however you wanted but you ran around like you’d just hacked the ends off with your blade. Your sister hated it, I remember she scolded you for mistreating your pretty hair.”
His mate had leaned forward obligingly to let him toy with the strands. “You don’t like it?”
“I didn’t say that. It makes you look young.”
“I am no such thing, you know this.” He tilted his head, amusement clear in the fine lines near his eyes. “It is my birthday. I am quite old.”
