“I know it’s best for us to go back. I know it all in my head but-” Wonwoo pauses, he inhales a heavy breath and slumps, a cute pout forming on his lips.
Mingyu slides over and closes the distance between them, pressing their shoulders together. “Hey, I’m scared too. But, years have passed and people have moved on. Look at Seungcheol and Jeonghan, they are doing just fine. We can be too.”
Both of them just look at each other for a while, finding comfort and strength in the other’s gaze. Wonwoo squeezes his hand back. “I don’t know about staying. Yet. But, I agree that we can go back for a short visit. I miss everyone too,” he says in the end.

So, you can imagine Wonwoo’s surprise when, on a regular Wednesday morning, Wonwoo is making a cup of tea in the office break room and the door slams open against the wall and a heaving, sweaty, panicked Mingyu busts through the doorway and shouts, “YOU NEED TO COME WITH ME RIGHT NOW AND PRETEND TO BE MY BOYFRIEND.”

Wonwoo doesn’t believe in holiness, could never even begin to fathom the concept when he himself is everything that goes against it, everything that is foul and ugly and wrong, but Mingyu’s kiss feels close to it, a divine promise of salvation pressed to his lips.
