Childe scoffed. “Is that what you call it? Sounds like more of your twisted experiments to me. I don’t need your help, Doctor. I’ve been managing just fine on my own.”
Even as he said it, a flicker of doubt passed through him. “Fine” was a relative term, especially while he focused half his attention on not coughing or wincing in the Doctor’s presence.
“Think of it, Tartaglia. With my knowledge and resources at your disposal, there’s no limit to what you could achieve. No more needless suffering, no more fighting with one hand tied behind your back.” He tilted his head, the motion predatory, as if Childe were a particularly interesting specimen under inspection.

After helping save Fontaine from the ancient prophecy, Childe is forced to remain in Zapolyarny Palace, recovering and awaiting new orders. Weakened and restless, he becomes an easy target for Dottore, who approaches him with an offer he can’t resist.

Summary
“A dragon’s treasure must be presented as an offering to proceed,” chimes the little Secret Source Servant hovering next to them.
Aether’s face twists into displeasure, glancing around the courtyard.
“Paimon still can’t see anything that looks like treasure,” she complains, flitting around the area.
It’s true, nothing stands out, even to Childe’s eyes. With a hum, he crosses his arms over his chest and thinks, considering the glimmering seal over the door looming before them. There are glowing lines of phlogiston running beneath the door and around its circumference. At the side of the door where the locking mechanism sits, there is what appears to be a small stone altar of sorts, raised up from the ground and surrounded in the same golden light as the door’s seal. Presumably, this is where the offering is supposed to be placed.
“What’s even in this Temple of the Coveted?” Childe inquires.

Childe attempts to help Aether with unsealing an ancient dragon temple in Natlan and gets more than he bargained for.

Summary
“No, no,” Childe hisses frantically. He glances down at his trembling hands and— sickly violet twists around his forearms like an ugly vine. Whatever this affliction is, it's interfering with his abyssal energy.
There’s no time to fret over it. Though numb panic sears through his nerves, Childe forces himself into motion, keeping his exhausted body moving through the next wave of attacks. Now aware of it, Childe can sense the corruption within him. It whispers in the back of his mind, it seeps into his bloodstream, it makes his limbs heavy as lead. Pure spite keeps him from succumbing.
Abruptly, the entity before him pulls out a lantern. Childe feels a gravitational shift as it begins to glow. Around him, the Wild Hunt summons begin to writhe. One by one they dissipate into fodder for the flames, the lantern growing ever and ever brighter. With resignation, too tired to move, Childe braces himself for the blow. The concentration of bright light peaks, and even behind closed eyes Childe can see the flare of it —
— but the impact he expects never comes.

Summary
"It says that the room cannot be destroyed. It can only be unlocked once of the participants carries a life inside their body."
Tartaglia slowly blinks, taking in all of the information fed to him. He sometimes is someone who lets the adrenaline do the talking but he is not stupid. Even so, he cannot figure out the meaning behind the instructions on how to open the room.
"I think... in order to open the door one has to impregnate the other." Tartaglia tries not to roll his eyes at that obvious explanation the man declared.
