Simon's been on Erid, physically, for 2 months.
He's been conscious for only a week.
He doesn't trust Grace or Rocky by any stretch of the word, not even sure he's convinced those are their real names.
And yet, seeing the usually cheerful, compassionate, and unnervingly trusting scientist so afraid had felt like a cold dead weight in his stomach.

When malware takes over SecUnit and it nearly kills three of ART's crew, ART is left with two bad options: keep the governor module on with ART as the Client, or partition off part of itself and stick it in SecUnit's head.
Whichever option they choose, they had better make it work, because SecUnit is firmly centered in the crosshairs of its former owner, the most paranoid and ruthless company in the entire corporation rim. As things quickly get worse, destroying the company--something SecUnit has long considered impossible--might just be the only way to survive.

He's a male human in his late twenties or early thirties. The blood, as he had guessed, wasn't his. The ship that was orbiting Erid had been a submarine, (they didn't have a word for submarine nor did they know it was man-made,) and it had neared closer and closer till one of the Eridians had seen it while testing a prototype telescope.
They cut it open and out the blood had spilled and out the man had come.
And that's as far as they know.

Grace has a soulmate, he knows this and before on Earth, he was okay with never meeting them. If it happened, it happened. But on Erid, after being forcefully sent to space to save his star with no choice in the matter, he admits to himself that he wasn't okay anymore, about it.
Sometimes, though, the universe listens and grants wishes every now and then. Even the ones unspoken.
Grace just has to hose this one down first.

Summary
Grace is coming to terms with living on Erid, being the only human is fine. He has Rocky, he is getting along with Adrian too, and Armando is always around for a chat. So why does he still get an aching feeling in his chest like something is missing from his life? It's something he doesn't want to think about too much, no point when its gonna give him nothing but grief.
That is until Rocky gives him the news, during the Eridian's mission to continue space exploration, they found... a person? Stranded on their own, just like Grace once was. With the new human on route to Erid, Grace contemplates all the ways that this could change his life.
