Summary
Dreaming was a luxury sinners had no right to.
Dreams were gifts. Given after a day of work and devotion, they made one’s invested energy feel like something worthy of being spent. It is endearing how dreams captured unspoken truths many did not even recognize as such. How sweet and yet so cruel of them to show such an indelible illusion of everything one could never obtain in the first place.
Thinking about it, what a painfully sadistic divinity it was that cast dreams in slumbering minds. Watching them curl into a haze of adoration and purpose only to rip it away with the vicious arrival of the morning sun.
Shadow Milk had not been given a dream in centuries.

It might be a child from the village.” Their master ordered with an angry tone to his voice.
