I bite back a laugh. “It’s okay, I started it,” I reassure him.
I glance around again and lower my voice even more. “I mean, I literally recognised you from a sex club and came up to talk to you at ten in the morning in a local café. If anyone lacks decorum here, it’s me.”
He gives me a pointed once-over, and I immediately feel the need to stand at attention.
“It’s adorable that you think this was your choice,” he counters swiftly, and I almost choke on my exhale.

Nick and Charlie have successfully started their family after Nick has given birth to a little girl named Amelia. They're happier than they've ever been, but Charlie's been quite sick recently. A visit to the doctor showed that Charlie is finally pregnant, so he made an appointment with his OB/GYN - who found that he was actually pregnant with twins.
This is meant to be read after Part 1 - "Having Hope", but it is not totally necessary. Enjoy!
