Summary
Emet Selch is an esteemed sorcerer from a time long passed. A hermit by nature, he hasn't taken a protégé in centuries if ever, until Elysia Heliane shows up at his doorstep, pleading to study under him to get his help with controlling her sealed away magical powers. Despite his surly nature and curt dismissals, he relents after she persists. He seems to to see something in her, and she oh so reminds him of... someone from the past. Painfully so.

His ears perked, listening intently to the source carried in on an eastern wind. A faint voice, reaching his ears on the updraft. Was someone up at this time of night?
