Summary
Torch opened his eyes. He was exactly where he left himself earlier that morning, sitting on a large rock near the shoreline. The shoreline that stood directly across from Voldsoy. He stared out into the distance, but was unable to see anything in the darkness.
He stood, stretched his legs, and picked up the torch lying in the sand. Once lit, he started walking into the thick of the forest, but not before turning around one last time, uselessly hoping he’d magically find Clancy standing at the edge of the water.
