For a moment, Uzi Doorman had everything.
Until it was brutally ripped away from her, with the sound of an eldritch horror slurping a terrified core down her throat.
Uzi wasn't killed that day, but a part of her had died with him.

Cyn is defeated, but not without consequences. After N’s death, Uzi’s life has lost all meaning. Drowning in grief and guilt, Uzi doesn’t want to live without him. But V stubbornly refuses to let her give up and die, so she doesn’t have much of a choice.
And maybe there’s a chance she’ll find something to live for. People always say that everything happens for a reason, though she doesn’t want to believe it. Maybe the universe isn’t done with the story yet.
In an unknown location, a drone awakens. The only thing he remembers is his name, and hazy flashes of memories he can’t quite decipher. He has no idea where he is, and something isn’t adding up.
And who is the purple drone he keeps seeing in his dreams?

Summary
Ralsei wakes up for the first time in a world where things have shifted irrevocably. Words have already been said that can no longer be taken back. Actions have been taken that made everyone's hope for nothing. Echoes of memories haunt around every corner. The rules of this world have been twisted and mangled. Ralsei knows he should not be waking up in the Light World, and yet every time he does, he hopes that he will awaken back in that empty room in the darkness.
Something is missing, and without it, Ralsei refuses to believe that the world will keep moving forward. After all, he knows of the Angel's ability now. All he has to do is wait it out, and then things will go back to normal. Time begins to drag on, and Ralsei starts remembering everything that led to this day. His chest aches, but surely this cannot go on for much longer, right?

They clutched it over their ears as they tossed and turned, balling their fists up in its fluffy mass. Music rang through the walls. Heavy, fumbling footsteps shook the floor, a noise more felt than heard. Careless, slurring voices, interspersed with giggles and that wretched, obnoxious, grating chuckle—

They knelt in front of the birdcage. “Anywhere but here,” they rasped, as if their intent had ever held any weight before. As if it would listen, if it could even hear.

“Let’s close our eyes and think about what Susie’s doing now, okay, Kris?”Shaken, Kris met Ralsei’s gaze with wide eyes. If there were any doubt left in Kris’s mind about the intentionality behind these little meditative exercises, usually followed by some subtle check-in… this dispelled it. Maybe they were imagining it, but the Darkner Prince’s warm cherry-blossom eyes seemed to see right past their walls, through the layers of coercion and control, to the hollow husk of a child at the center of it all.
(In which Kris retreats to their bedroom in Castle Town after the events of Chapter 4 and makes a friend.)
