You stepped inside, shut the door, and changed out of your current outfit. You slid the new dress on—silky and snug—but paused when you reached behind your back. The zipper.
You tried once. Twice. Stretched your arm until it ached. It refused to move.
You sighed, annoyed, and called out without thinking. "Mark? Can you help? The zipper's stuck."
No answer. But the door creaked open behind you.
You didn't turn. "Seriously, I can't get it—"
Warm breath ghosted over your neck, and your whole body went still.
Then a voice.
"Is the dress giving you trouble?"
Your heart flipped in your chest. You knew that voice.
Taylor.
You gulped, trying to steady yourself. "Yeah, uh... zipper's just being difficult. I'd appreciate the help."
"Of course," she said gently.
But she didn't go for the zipper.
