Summary
happiness wasn’t at the bottom of the glass, continually drinking the amber liquid in order to heal his pain. he knew that. and he also knew that it was too late and he was foolish to don’t take advantage of the opportunities he had, even today or back to high school, and crying over spilled milk would bring no positive consequences or solve his problems. but now? after the spectacle of affection, attunement, and complicity that he unwittingly and inconveniently caught during lunch? there was nothing to be done but the failed attempt to heal his pain.
or, jim hopper sees joyce and bob newby very comfortable with each other during her break to lunch, and he gets jealous.

Summary
Eve could sense a shift as they cleaned themselves up. Smoothed out their satin and reapplied their lipstick, and tried to stand straight. There was no coming back from this once they stepped out into the world. Everyone could see something happened. In the mirror, even Margo, perfectly composed Margo, couldn’t put herself back together completely. Her hair still matted and sticky in places, pink blotches still staining her cheeks and neck, and bruises on her throat.

Summary
“Briarcliff is like a clock,” she casually continued while she read her papers, working while scolding you, “and each person has their own set of tasks and duties to perform perfectly, without any slip-ups. If you…have a delay of a few seconds, you end up disrupting the whole clock…with your slip-ups, you disturb your colleagues and their work…and we cannot tolerate your failings to spread to other staff, here at Briarcliff…actually…we cannot allow your failings to become your own demise, either…”
She paused, and her gaze lifted up from her reading to fall upon you again.
Your eyes locked with hers, and your body was reminded of how intimidating this woman could be when she was strict-“Much like sin…” Sister Jude murmured, this time in a lower voice, “no matter how small it is when it starts…you must immediately stop it before it takes over you, and you end up falling deeper in it.”
