“You talked to E-ming, didn’t you,” Hua Cheng says bleakly.
“It only confirmed what I already suspected.” Xie Lian closes his eyes. “Can you tell me that those injuries aren’t from who I think they are?”
“Dianxia is so clever.” Hua Cheng looks at him, and there is a sudden exhaustion written in the lines around his eye. “I could tell you they aren’t, but...this San Lang is tired of lying to his god.”
Despite his suspicions, to hear it admitted so plainly from Hua Cheng’s own mouth feels like a fist to his heart. Xie Lian takes a deep, deep, deep breath. Calmly. Calmly and clearly. He has already done his crying. He is not going to freak out right now. He is not going to yell. He is not going to yell. He is not—
“What were you thinking, Hua Cheng?!”
When E-ming is stolen and its curse activated by enemies, Xie Lian fully expects the chorus of pained howls he hears outside of Paradise Manor. What he does not expect is the multitude of raw, gaping wounds that split open along his husband’s skin.

This prompted Hua Cheng to fully cup his cheek, hand sliding to rest below his ear as a cold thumb caressed his cheekbone. “That wouldn’t stop me from embracing you,” A playful smirk took its place on the Ghost King’s face. “I have been pressed against gege’s sweaty body before.”

Summary
A nameless ghost once exited the kiln of Mount Tonglu, becoming a supreme. His name became Hua Cheng, and he was then called Crimson Rain Sought Flower.
A ghost whose name had been his own death sentence, He Xuan, had also exited the kiln, becoming Black Water Submerging Boats.
Those names were known and feared by all the three realms, and they had been forged after years of suffering inside of a mountain.
However, when a new supreme was born from the kiln, after having spent only one year inside of it, he needed no name to accompany his exit.
Everyone already knew his name, so it was useless to give him a new one.
The name of the person was Xie Lian, and he was known for being a scrap-picking god. No one, in all the three realms, expected him to fall so low.
Or: after Xie Lian is locked in Mount Tonglu with Bai WuXiang, he is deceived and dies, becoming a supreme. It's not as angsty as it sounds, I swear.

Xie Lian cleared his throat lightly before he suggested, “How about becoming a God of Style?”
After losing one too many spars, Mu Qing finds out that—due to new worshippers of Ju Yang in Ghost City—Feng Xin's divine power had become ever-so-slightly stronger than Mu Qing's. Mu Qing's solution? Build a following in Ghost City, too: bigger and better than Feng Xin's. The issue? Ghosts don't care for martial arts or war at all! Mu Qing would have to find something else to be worshipped for.
Thus begins Mu Qing's life as Xuan Zhen: the God of Beauty.

Feng Xin would like to think that he has become accustomed to the variety of strange (and often unfortunate) events that surround Xie Lian. He has become accustomed to the flights of fancy, and the trash collecting, and the occasional ill-fated culinary quest. He has even, as of late, become accustomed to His Highness’ cripplingly poor choice in spouse.
Despite all of Feng Xin’s practice in these unfortunates, however, he is not prepared for this.
“Who are you?” Xie Lian stares up at him from a puddle of oversized white robes, his eyes wide. He is several sizes too small, and several shades too oblivious. “And, um. Where are we?”
Beside him, Mu Qing sighs very very very deeply and pinches the bridge of his nose.
When a curse turns Xie Lian into a child again, Feng Xin, Mu Qing, and Hua Cheng have to work together to keep him safe. Needless to say, this is a trying task for all of them.
