Summary
Garazeb thought he would have more time to figure things out; to finally verbalize his feelings to his best friend. Then they went on a nightmare of a mission and suddenly, without warning or mercy, he was out of time.
He has thought about it. About telling that thing down in quarantine confinement. Just to get it off his chest. But it wouldn't be the same. Look it or not, that thing isn't his Alexsandr.
Alexsandr Kallus had personally laughed at the very notion of zombies being real. But after he got infected on that dreaded mission, that's exactly what his unofficial medic - more akin to a mad scientist - would describe him as; a zombie.
After months of failed treatments with no improvement in Alexsandr's condition, Garazeb is giving up hope and he's starting to think it would be better to finally put Kallus out of his misery.
To his great disapproval, Doctor Carmen doesn't seem to agree, presenting a much more optimistic analysis of Alexsandr's situation.

Summary
He should have left. His contact could have been compromised, tracked by the Empire. He could have been dead out in the thick, dark woods. In the interest of self-preservation, Kallus should have made his way back to the Chimaera and resumed his daily routine before someone spotted the inconsistency.
Despite all of these very pressing threats to his continued existence, Kallus waited. Because if their roles were reversed, he knew Zeb would wait for him.

Zeb and Kallus exchanged a quiet glance. Kallus shrugged, a small smirk tugging at his mouth. It was pretty funny.
Zeb let out a groan, his shoulders sagging. “It just kinda slipped out. Everyone else at the bar thought we were… that we were a couple, so I just- I just went with it.”
