The slap echoed in the room and snapped their head to the sides. Izuru had seen it coming, yes, but they took the hit anyway. They turned their head back and smiled... Or attempted to. Rather, it stretched their mouth wide like a child attempting a grimace to ruin a photo for the sake of it, something that could very well ruin the carefully-constructed plans the Steering Committee had made up for the past two years. So much uglier than their blank face, devoid of any life. That very well earned a second, harder slap. Izuru’s head bowed, their hair hiding their face.
A sigh. “He can predict the outcome of diplomatic negotiations, he could destroy this whole plane in a heartbeat, but he's unable to smile. We’ve truly created a monster, haven’t we?”
Two years after the Kamukura Project came to fruition, Izuru, and they know it and the Steering Committee tries their best to hide it, exists less as a god and more as some more-or-less-perfect dog biting at their own wounds just to confirm they can still feel; a bomb without the spark needed to explode.
Luckily for them, Nagito Komaeda, Ultimate Degenerate, has plenty of matches on him and happens to know a thing or two about blasphemy.Bookmarked by Freckles_03

If you asked a deeper part of himself, perhaps he'd admit that he'd never been praised like this before. That being called incredible and capable made him feel so many things he'd never dreamed to ever acknowledge. Perhaps he’d dare to say this unknown person he’d never seen in his life was putting him in such a high pedestal, he never wanted to come down.
Hajime wanted to be someone. He wanted to be recognized as someone.
Anyone.
This person thought he was good. They thought he was capable. They liked his reasoning. They thought he was smart. Like he was not some average guy in the reserve course of the school he admired so much, but could never truly belong to.
It felt so good.
He accepted the request before he could second guess anything else.

An overworked Hajime Hinata gets recommended an online game by his best friend in hopes he can detach himself from his studies, just a tad. Summary
Life on the real Jabberwock Island is perfect (enough) until the dependable leader Hajime falls ill. It exposes the deep, roaring chasm of resentment and anger within the islanders, even after the support from the Neo World Program and rehabilitative simulation. Maybe they’ve changed from being worldwide terrors, but the weeks in the Neo World Program were enough to change their priorities… not their personalities.
As usual, it’s Nagito who is the first to act—for better or worse.
A non-compliant sister story to under the blanket and proceeding after Just A Little More; the story will still make sense without reading either fic!

Nagito shifted under the covers. "Do you know René Descartes?"
“I guess.” Hajime furrowed his brows. “Cogito ergo sum.”
“Yes, cogito ergo sum.” Nagito echoed, “It’s a philosophical concept he reached by locking himself up in a room away from all distractions from society. Traditions, customs, obscurantism. His goal was to start from zero. Rebuild his whole philosophy from what he knew to be real. That’s where his first conclusion came from. I think therefore I am.”
“So... you’re changing your philosophy, then? What’s your new take on hope and despair?”
“I don’t know, Hinata-kun...” Nagito smothered himself with his own pillow. “So far, I’ve just been sleeping.”
After the Neo World Program, Nagito Komaeda poses as a philosopher by drowning in guilt and painkillers and locking himself up in a room until everyone hopefully forgets about his miserable existence. Unfortunately for him, Hajime Hinata doesn't mind playing philosopher with him and clearly plans on doing something about his state.

After two years of being at Hope’s Peak and holding his job at the cafe, Hajime learned to save face and hide his admiration of the Ultimates. He saw them around campus more often over time, but while working was the only time they would ever make conversation.
This afternoon in particular, a rather dreary and dull one, an Ultimate that he didn’t immediately recognize walked in. The boy had white, fluffy hair that faded to a muted pink at the ends. He was tall; perhaps even a bit taller than Hajime. He wore the same uniform all the Ultimates wore, His eyes were strikingly similar to his own, and a lingering smile painted his face as he walked towards the counter to order. Hajime found himself flustered in a way he didn’t quite understand—or maybe he did understand, and he didn’t want to admit to himself why. He brushed the thought away. “Welcome in,” Hajime said, beginning his usual scripted introduction. “What may I get for you?”

Or to her bed, at the beginning of her first semester at Hope's Peak, where the Ultimate Gamer must use her wits and knowledge to save not only Class-77 from Junko Enoshima but also the entire world as well.
Thankfully, Chiaki always had a knack for strategy games.

With some unexpected free time at the end of their unexpected island school trip, Class 77 decide to make even more summer memories with a water gun tournement. Despite not knowing what his talent is, Hinata is close to winning. He just has to beat Oowari. A monumental task that Hinata isn't sure he'll actually be able to do, but that doesn't mean he wont give it his all.
Safe to say, Hinata won't let anything distract him. Not even an unexpected Trip Ticket offer from Nagito Komaeda.
