Honoka was just about to dive into her grilled salmon when she realized her rice was unseasoned. The furikake sat between Dad and Toshinori.
“Can you pass me the seasoning, Daddy?”
They reached for it at the same time.
Midoriya spat out his drink.
Chizome’s chopsticks snapped in half.
Toshinori cleared his throat and released the furikake. Honoka wanted the ground to swallow her up. She hadn’t meant to let that word slip, especially not at family dinner… after what he'd done to her at USJ.
Dad snatched the furikake and glowered at him. “She meant me, Mr. Yagi.”
