Summary
Hunter is ordered to slay the Selkidomus and give its corpse to his Uncle, but, after a painful battle, the corpse he was ordered to retrieve is stolen, and, bloody and beaten, he is left for dead. When he wakes, he finds himself at the mercy of the infamous Bat Queen.

Summary

Summary
Yolanda knows Trinity's hands intimately. She knows the rhythm of them at work, fast and precise and unendingly capable. She has the feeling of them on her waist at two in the morning, warm under the hem of her shirt and pressing into the lower edges of her ribs, memorized. She can find the half-moon scar near Trinity's right thumb without a second glance and is familiar with the way she cracks her knuckles every morning as soon as she wakes up, like her own personal version of a morning stretch.
So when, hardly an hour into their night out with coworkers, Trinity's fist slams into a man's face hard enough to send him staggering into the edge of a high-top table, Yolanda is so stunned that she reels almost as hard as the actual recipient of the punch.
