Summary
Shane Hollander only likes to eat a handful of foods. He only thinks about hockey. He only feels comfortable around about five total people. He hates crowds and loud noises and bright lights and shoes that aren’t sneakers or skates.
Ilya thinks Shane is completely perfect the way he is. He wishes things were not so hard for his husband, but is always happy to help Shane navigate a world that isn’t built for brains like his.
Yuna and David Hollander love their son more than anything. They don't want any limits placed on his life, or any labels that would hold him back. He can thrive without a diagnosis being put on him.
Or: Everyone knows Shane Hollander is autistic. Except for Shane.

“I think you might benefit from taking an autism assessment.”
Shane wasn’t sure he understood the words at first. Why would he benefit from being assessed for something so random? Like being checked if he had red hair.Shane Hollander gets a late autism diagnosis. It's surprising to him, but apparently not to anyone else. Slowly, he realises how his friends and family have already helped him.
