Boom huffs.
“You were supposed to be here an hour ago.”
“I know, I’m sorry,” Aou answers, sounding apologetic. “Pond got in a fight with Phuwin. He’s been rambling for over two hours now.”
Boom sighs heavily, his hand rubbing over his face.
“When do you think you can come? Dinner is ready.” He pauses. “It’s been ready for some time now.”
“Can you eat without me?”
Boom freezes.
“What?”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can come today. I’m worried Pond might do something stupid if I leave him now.”
And what about me? Boom wants to ask.
