Jason's attack on Titan's Tower goes well, maybe too well. Maybe Jason didn't mean to beat Tim within an inch of his life, and maybe hearing the words "You were my hero, Robin" out of the mouth of a dying boy of 15 years but looking far younger, would have Jason spiral even weeks after. And maybe, Jason starts stalking his replacement properly, to figure out what in the Lazarus Pits was wrong with him, and maybe things get out of hand...

"Alright, asshole," says Jason and plunks a folder down directly on the keyboard of Tim's laptop. "I'm calling in that IOU."
Tim doesn't startle, not visibly. But all at once there's a batarang in his hand, the blade gleaming sharp. It takes him a second to register who the intruder actually is before he gives Jason a lingering, suspicious sidelong glance and tucks it away again.
"What IOU?" says Tim. "And how'd you get in here?"
He looks like shit, frankly. There are dark smudges under his eyes, and he's lost weight since Jason's seen him last. From the coffee cups scattered around the desk, it's probably even odds that he's on at least 24 hours without sleep.
"I work in mysterious ways," declares Jason. "By which I mean your window's open. You get kind of careless when you haven't slept, Timbo."

Wrecked. It’s a word that Jason often thinks when he’s thinking about himself, after, once he’s able to think at all. His body’s a wreck. His mind’s a wreck. He pictures himself as wreckage, as a ragged mess that’s been blown back to Gotham by some random tide, after the storm that was Bruce and the clown and the crowbar and the Pit blew him sky-high. He’s all holes and hollow places and rage blows through him day and night like a high wind.
“Nice,” the replacement Robin says appreciatively, from his bloody place at Jason’s feet. “Kind of — dramatic — but I get it. It’s like a metaphor, right?”
Jason didn’t come here to kill this kid but that was before he started eavesdropping on Jason’s thoughts and offering commentary. He actually thinks killing him might be a reasonable idea at this point.

Growing up, Tim had rarely thought to be grateful of his parents. Grateful to them, yes. He learned to be thankful from the moment he could form the words ‘thank you’. But he was never particularly grateful of the two people who were so rarely in his company. It did not matter, in the cold marble and glass world he lived in, whether or not one loved their parents.

At this point, Jason just wanted to be left alone. After nine months back in Gotham and one failed assassination attempt on his former father-figure, Jason made the executive decision to steer clear of the Bats. Even the Replacement. He instead spent his days getting his Pit Madness (mostly) under control, in addition to gathering a small but mighty criminal empire thanks to a duffle bag full of severed heads. Crime Alley finally had the protector it deserved. And whether out of fear or sheer disinterest, the Bats seemed to keep their distance.
Until the Replacement decides one reluctant rescue from the infamous Red Hood is enough to form a pseudo-alliance between them...
