TL;DR: Harvey defends Mike by spanking and humiliating the other first-years tormenting Harvey’s protégé (legal within AU) and encouraging other partners to do the same. Mike doesn’t get spanked- just his enemies do. No slash. Alternates between punishment scenes for Mike’s enemies and sweet Harvey and Mike scenes (even though Mike screws up a lot).
Harvey often playfully threatens to spank Mike, but, in reality, he’s committed to shielding his new protégé from punishment by authority figures (including Harvey himself) and bullying from peers. When Devon, Gregory, and Seth taunt and threaten Mike, Harvey can’t just let it slide. Workplace non-sexual disciplinary public spanking/paddling of adults.
