As if that was all he needed, the golden head retreated. Then, without even a passing glance at Roy, Fullmetal silently started shuffling toward the exit of the station."

When the Fullmetal Alchemist is sent on a mission to Western Command to infiltrate a group of teenagers who are sending people across the Amestrian boarder for illegal purposes, he comes back two weeks later with rather severe trauma. The mission was successful, but at what cost? Mustang, as well as his team and Alphonse, try to bring back the once fiery teenager as the military works to get the Fullmetal Alchemist back onto the field, no matter what they have to do.
(This is mostly a trauma-recovery fic with a few twists and turns along the way. I'm not very good at summaries, but I hope you give it a try!)
