   Summary

   Cassie revealed herself to be incapable of genuine friendship. Kat and her only spoke on occasion, usually to fill an awkward silence or to pry U.S. History homework from one another. Then, of course, the Jules and Elliot of it all. Lexi may actually be her last friend standing.

   Oh, and Maddy. They were friends.

   Whatever. Friendly, then. Despite the fact that Rue didn’t check in on her after the play, and the fact that she waited until it was convenient for her to drop the bomb about Nate and Cassie, and the fact that she wasn’t even sure Maddy had the same cell phone number.
