"My head starts to sweat and my stomach is swirling. The only thing I can do is nervously crack my knuckles and dart my eyes in every direction. My mouth and voice start to short circuit, and Maya waves her hands out in front of her towards me, signaling me to lower my voice, or just shut up altogether. One of the two.
We can hear footsteps approaching the door. “It’s too late to act like an idiot so you’re gonna have to just-”
Maya is interrupted by a polite knock, and Pearls is too overcome with excitement to recognize that neither of us are prepared to see who’s behind it. She reaches out in front of her, happily twisting the knob and opening the entrance to my apartment. I snap up straight like a board, doing my best to ignore the sounds of my nervous (and hungry) stomach.
As expected, Edgeworth is standing on the other side, shoulders back and one arm holding the other awkwardly."

Maya gets tired of seeing Phoenix pine, so she invites Edgeworth over for dinner at Phoenix's apartment. Gregory Edgeworth is alive and well. His son is more than a little nervous to tell him he might be less than straight and having his best friend accidentally find out he has feelings for him doesn't do much to help his anxiety.

Larry did not nod, because Miles wasn’t allowed any amount of mercy, apparently. Instead, his eyes widened until they looked as if they might pop out of his skull and he leaped to his feet, making Miles jump.
“Wait! If your into dudes, then that means that the gal you’re hung up on is--”
Miles felt every muscle in his body tense as time seemed to freeze, a moment of calm before the storm. Dammit, he should never have said anything! Of course Larry knew how he felt about him what was Miles thinking--
“Larry,” he pleaded, horrified, “please--”
“You like Nick, don’t you?” Larry barreled on, pointing an accusing finger and grinning like an idiot. “This is so crazy! So what are you gonna do, man?”
Miles had stopped listening. This was it. This was the end. It couldn’t possibly get worse than this and, oh, wonderful, his breathing was speeding up.

Summary
While Edgeworth is trying to convince everyone around him (and himself) he isn't lonely he simultaneously gets wrapped up in Franziska's plans to ask out Maya. Through a bunch of coincidences, Edgeworth finds himself having to face his feelings for Wright while also trying to figure what's got the other man so flustered all the time.
Edit: THANK YOU for 500 kudos!!! I never thought that many people would read our story! When I get the time I'd love to make a sequel to this with Klavier and Apollo as our leading men.
