    Summary

On a flight to Fontaine, Kaveh gets mysteriously upgraded to first class beside an annoyingly handsome alpha who smells like the very essence of the heavens. Kaveh, however, has never willingly given an alpha the time of day, and he's certainly not about to start now.

    Probably.

    Maybe.

Except why does this one smell so damn good?!

As Kaveh made his way to row 3 seat B, the woodsy, petrichor-rich scent he’d assumed was some expensive air freshener in the airport terminal filled his senses far more strongly.

... The alpha. Seated in row 3, seat A.

Kaveh stopped so abruptly the passenger walking behind him stumbled into his carry-on.

His gaze collided with the alpha’s once more. From up close, the ocean hidden within those devastatingly beautiful eyes felt endless, inviting him toward depths he was already drowning in - instantly overcome by the dizzying sensation of falling from a cliff overlooking the vast, expansive sea.

    Summary

Kaveh expects some offhandedly smug, smooth remark from Alhaitham about how Kaveh’s his senior but never acts like it, or how it was the most logical outcome given the circumstances and he’s being a child for debating with him about it. But he just mumbles, low and almost petulant, “It is what it is.” He won’t meet Kaveh’s eyes. “You can’t move out.”

Kaveh balks at him before rubbing at his face furiously. “You can’t be serious. You can’t be serious,” he laughs, almost delirious. There’s no way his luck has reached this new low. He knows the ascended heroes on Celestia are guffawing at his misfortune. “Why would you do that when you’ve always wanted me to leave anyway?”

Alhaitham stares at him for a long moment before sighing, slipping into his seat and sliding his plate of Kaveh’s carefully constructed Fatteh towards him primly. “Why indeed,” he drones, sounding exhausted. “Why indeed.”

Fun fact: being an omega in the Akademiya is uncommon.

Another fun fact: betas make up the majority of the scholar population.

Newest fun fact: the singular alpha that walks the halls has suddenly become Kaveh’s own personal hell.

    Summary

It felt like a lifetime: Kaveh without Alhaitham seemed as inherently impossible as Alhaitham without Kaveh. It would have been intriguing to an onlooker, had their friendship been privy to anyone but Mehrak: the Crown Prince and a street artist fighting for scraps; the silent, stark line of Alhaitham’s lips and the bubbling laughter leaving Kaveh’s throat at every other moment; silver, carefully trimmed hair and a bloom of golden locks washing over bright freckled skin. Reason and emotion. Routine and invention. Complete opposites.

“Or, perhaps, reflections,” Alhaitham had suggested. “You cannot deny we are similar in many ways. True to our convictions, stubborn to a fault. Just opposite in what those convictions are.” He paused. “You are my perfect mirror.”

My perfect mirror. What a statement to hear from the man who graces your dreams and attaches himself to every thought, whose eye colour you recognise in every sunset and every painting. What was the most tempting part of the sentence? The “perfect”? Or the possessive “my” referring to Kaveh, of all people?

    Summary

Kaveh doesn’t look up from his full plate. Eyebrows drawn, he mumbles something unintelligible. Alhaitham opens his mouth to press him again, but then Kaveh’s free hand moves into his tousled hair. He brushes the locks behind his ear, but they fall forward anyway.

Ah. Alhaitham identifies the issue. “You don’t want to eat with hair in your face, is that it?” he asks, eyeing Kaveh’s movements. When Kaveh glares at him, he knows he hit the target, dead center.

Alhaitham pulls up a chair on Kaveh’s side of the table and sits down. “Turn your head.”

Alhaitham brushes up on hair braiding skills he left behind with his Akademiya school uniform.
