    Summary

"I had hoped," he said cautiously, "that my declaration might have improved me somewhat in your estimation."

"It has not." A pause. Elizabeth prayed for someone, anyone, to come and save her from this conversation. "You are still the most alarming man I know." At that, unexpectedly, his expression gentled. Alarmingly.

"And yet," he said quietly, "you said yes." The worst part was that he did not sound triumphant. Elizabeth could have endured triumph. She was prepared for self congratulation of heroic proportions. What she had not prepared for was this bewildered sort of hope, as though he genuinely could not believe she had chosen him. Which by anyone's estimations was an absurd notion. He was Fitzwilliam Darcy, after all. Filthy rich, handsome, absurdly well connected, and currently looking at her like she had personally invented happiness.

In which Elizabeth accepts Darcy's first proposal in order to provide for her family. What begins as a simple business arrangement for Elizabeth quickly turns into an unexpected discovery of the truth of Darcy that lies beneath his arrogant exterior.

    Summary

Chuuya wakes up like he’s been dropped back into his own body without warning.

    Everything hurts. Everything is wrong.

There’s blood on his skin he can’t place, bruises he doesn’t remember earning, and a heavy, sinking feeling like he’s already lost something important—something he can’t even name.

His head is full of broken flashes. Red. Noise. Falling. Power tearing through him until there’s nothing left but static.

He doesn’t know where he is.

    Doesn’t know who he is.

Just fragments that refuse to become anything solid.

His phone is in his hand like it’s always been there.

Names scroll past his thumb—Ane-san, Hirotsu-san, Boss—none of them meaning anything, none of them feeling real enough to hold onto.

    His breathing goes uneven.

    Too fast.

    Too shallow.

    Then he sees it.

    Suicidal Manic.

    No memory attached to it.

    No face.

    No explanation.

Just something in him going, this.

    Wrong decision, probably.

    Definitely.

But his thumb taps it anyway.

Because somehow—despite everything missing—that feels like the only thing that still makes sense.

    Summary

Harry really needed to stop getting himself into these situations. They always, always, without any exception at all, ended up spiraling out of his control. One minute, he was trying escape Romilda Vane and her terrifyingly forward advances, and the next, he'd practically told the whole bloody school that he was taking George Weasley to the Ball. That is to say, he'd told Romilda that he was taking George, which meant she'd have told the whole school by the end of dinner, if they hadn't already heard. It wouldn't have been a problem, except...

Well, the whole thing may or may not have been a lie to get Romilda off his back, her and the rest of the girls who'd been following him around. It was just so bloody exhausting, the whole thing with girls. Now, Harry could only hope that George would agree to play along — which, who was he kidding? George would almost certainly play along, so long as Harry managed to bribe him properly — and also that Ron didn't kill him.

(AKA: Harry Potter and the accidental, but maybe not entirely terrible, fake-dating scheme with George Weasley. It might even get a Death Eater or two caught along the way.)
