Alexander finds himself made into a target thanks to Washington's fondness of him. He vehemently insists he will die before giving the redcoats any information but-
“All we need from you are pieces to send to your dear general, to make him more open to a little meeting with us. Whether or not you’re alive when he gets here is up to you, as well as what we send him, like a strand of hair instead of oh let’s see... a finger, maybe?”
He's just bait.
