Dokja stares at him like he’d torn his beating heart out from his chest, like he’d suffered harsh winters all his life and only just felt the warmth of sunlight.
It was a rather dramatically ruined expression for something that Joonghyuk thought was common sense.
“Why…?” Dokja croaked as tears continue to bead and fall.
It’s okay though: Joonghyuk would spend lifetimes wiping them away.

Summary
Much like anything else in his life, waking up beaten and battered in a world not his own had not been his choice. A staggering experience, certainly, especially considering he had not expected to wake up in the first place. But there is something to be said about new beginnings, be they intended or accidental, especially when there was no world for him to be going back to.
Peace was a faraway dream for Kurosaki Ichigo. But Pirates, running rampant on seas not his own, were famously known as dreamers, letting very little get in the way of stopping them. In a world as colourful as bizzare as this one seemed to be, what other choice was there but to get swept away with the madness, and learn to find himself along the way once more?
And if he finds people along the way willing to take him into their fold? Well then perhaps he would find people he could protect; and this time, he would keep them alive.
