“Why are you dressed in that costume?”
Jim turned and looked down. A little girl with braided dark brown hair and pointy ears stared up at him with big dark eyes. He smiled, as he had been doing all afternoon. His cheeks had long since stopped hurting. But it was worth it for this lovely time of year.
He knelt down so he was eye level with the girl. “It’s not a costume, it’s my work uniform. All of Santa’s helpers wear this.” Jim knew he looked ridiculous wearing a red undershirt with a dark green vest overtop, the pants matched the vest and stopped just past his knee to shoe the red and white striped tights the rest of the way down. The shoes had a little point to them and the hat he wore jingled every time he moved his head.
The girl’s eyes narrowed in suspicion. “Santa Claus is a fictional, legendary character from folk tales commonly associated with the Terran holiday of Christmas. He is not real, and I do not believe you are a real employee of his.”

Silence.
Jim pulls back the comm to look at the little screen. They’re still connected.
“Spock?” He asks. Nothing. Jim is about to snap the comm closed in frustration, when he hears a ragged inhale.
“You’re on a roof?” Spock’s voice is deadly soft, flat and hard and…something else that Jim’s brain won’t process. Jim rolls his eyes. He grabs another drink and wrestles it open, taking three large swigs before he bothers responding.

After the events of ST:ID, Jim calls Spock from a rooftop. Spock misunderstands.

Summary
Captain Kirk had taken 8.32 hours to deduce the identity of his captors, track their sale to this organized crime leader, formulate a plan to infiltrate the auction and execute it. Quite excellent work. The only tasks available to Spock in this time, due to his capture, were to observe as much as he could about this place and to resist the sense-heightening and aphrodisiac effects of the cinnamon they dosed him with.
In this, Spock had failed miserably, and he was persistently the most sexually aroused he had ever been in his life.
