Along the way, Lavender learns to enjoy Potions and even, slowly, starts to appreciate the teacher she's trying to save. Their newfound mentorship, however, makes the bewilderment Lavender feels all the more painful when Snape kills Dumbledore at the end of sixth year. He knew he should come clean. Maybe just stick to one costume, or stop being a vigilante altogether. Groups were treated much more seriously than lone entities, and he could get in serious trouble if they sent heroes after him expecting backup that didn’t exist.
