Summary
“I’ve just left him,” Trent said the moment he slid into the booth next to Coach Beard. He had intended to play it cool, but it all came out in a rush. “He doesn’t want to go back. He admitted that his mum guilted him into leaving Richmond, and he doesn’t want to go.”
Beard’s expression didn’t change. “Is he still going?”
Trent sat straight against the back of the booth. “Yes.”

Summary
Ted watches the ball sail through the air, the arc not entirely on-point, nor straight. His heart starts to thump when he sees it curve, and it rockets up into his throat when it ends its trajectory by flying for Trent.
“Hey— Hey, Trent!” Ted starts to shout, mixed in with a few of his players shouting the same, but he’s not fast enough. None of them are. When it comes to a kick from Jamie Tartt, nobody can be fast enough; he can call over to Trent all he wants, can start to sprint towards him as quick as he can, but the ball is still going to sail through the air in a direct curve for him, too swift for anyone to reach Trent or stop the ball or do a single goddamned thing about it.
Despite his warning, Ted still realizes that Trent can’t move in time, can’t do anything but lift his head in confused recognition before the ball is colliding directly with his face, hard and head-on, with a whump that Ted can hear even this far down the pitch.

Summary
“You believe me?”
“Kinda hard not to when you’re showing me such compelling evidence,” Ted points out. “I don’t know anyone else who can show me their fangs like that.”
Trent stares at him, as if he is the one bewildered, here. “You— Ted. You amaze me every day.”
“Says the guy who’s quite literally proving himself to be a Dracula right in front of me,” Ted says, and Trent smiles. It’s his smile, just with a little extra bite to it.
“I’m not a Dracula,” Trent insists.
“Oh, right, Dracula’s sort of like a brand name, isn’t it?” Ted says. “That’d be like calling all tissues Kleenex, or something.”
or: ted has a confession to make: he's in love with trent. trent, in turn, has his own confession to make: he's a vampire. and has been for nearly three hundred years.

Summary
“Excuse me, Coach Lasso, could I have a word?” Trent asked, tamping down the butterflies in his belly as Ted Lasso gave him his full attention.
Ted put his thumb and pointer finger under his chin for a moment thoughtfully before snapping his fingers and pointing at Trent.
“Archipelago."
