"T-thank you, sir." Harry uttered, undoing his seatbelt and awkwardly making an aborted bow.
"Easy, darling." his professor chuckles, reaching out to touch his knee. "I thought something was forming between us back there. Were you just pretending to be interested to spare an old man's feelings?"
Harry can feel the heat forming on his cheeks and he hopes the moon is hidden enough by the clouds to temper the light and obscure his flushed face.
"No, sir! I-I didn't do it to spare your feelings. I was- I was interested." he meekly offered in reply. The professor's hand traveled his whole thighs, meanwhile. Hand going nearer and nearer his crotch. The man's whole body is leaning towards him now. Breath tickling his face.

With a defeated sigh, Harry nodded his head. “Well, I guess we can… try it out. You better not make me do anything stupid. I doubt it’ll even work on me—the Imperius doesn't.”
Tom dangled the medallion in front of Harry. “Hypnosis is different from the Imperius curse. It is more akin to a form of Legilimency.”
“Well, brilliant, I’ve always been terrible at Occlumency.”
Or: Tom Riddle uses hypnosis on Harry Potter and Cedric Diggory to manipulate them into believing that they need his approval before they can date. The couple cannot kiss one another or touch without Tom's explicit consent.
And Tom has always been in love with Harry... his precious, fiery Harry. He has no intention of losing the Omega to Cedric. He will do anything to ensure that Harry becomes his husband.

Summary
Harry Potter was kicked out at 18 by adults who wanted nothing to do with him from the very start - he couldn't truly call them his family. So, after dropping out of highschool and devoting his time to work, and trying to get himself a flat (not a dirty squat), when met with a proposition he's in no place to deny - Tom Riddle, an older and wealthy stranger he knows nothing about is ready to pamper and love him for the tiny little price - his freedom.
Or: Harry is homeless, and Tom uses it to make Harry dependant on him - his wealth, food, clothes, or good sex - as long as his sweet boy stays, it's all that matters.

The hum of the engine shifted from behind to directly beside him, now accompanied by the whirr of an electric window being rolled down. A long, lean arm and hand extended through the opening, pianist’s fingers tapping on the car’s sleek dark-green, almost black exterior; it was shortly followed by a strong shoulder and a face with equally sharp lines at the jaw, nose and cheekbones.
”Get into the car, Harry,” the man at the wheel said. His voice was a low rumble that matched that of his luxury Aston Martin, belied by a mostly playful tone.
Or: Harry Potter learns to let himself have good things.

Harry pressed his lips together and simmered down, but refused to apologize for what had been a perfectly reasonable question. “What kind of solution?” he asked, highly skeptical of this out-of-nowhere proposal. “And why would you even care?”
”Call it a personal interest in maintaining the current excellent character of my neighborhood.” Riddle shrugged one shoulder casually, but his eyes were now looking Harry up and down like he’d just been doing with the apartment; the effect was more distracting by an order of magnitude. “As for my offer—why, it’s a simple quid pro quo. I provide you with the funds to pay your rent, with the option to repeat the transaction in future months—“
”Why would you ever do that, it’s like a thousand quid and you don’t even know me—“
”…and in return, you allow me to take certain…liberties.” His gaze now strayed unmistakably downward, as he leaned against the doorframe and…holy fuck, did he just lick his lips!?
Or: Faced with an unexpected financial reversal, Harry can’t make the rent on his nice new apartment. His neighbor might just be able to help him out.
