Joe frowns, his hunch needs some ajustement it seems. “Are you so scared of losing to him?”
“Ha! Not a chance!” He replies on the stop.
“Then what is it that scares you?” Cherry asks.
Again this forth eyes caught something Joe hadn’t; Adam is not behaving as he usually does, he lost some of his charisma and composure, lost his prestance since he stepped back and talked with Snake. Could it be true? Can Adam be scared of Snake?
In a biblical way, it would make sense.

Shidou extends a hand that Sae, in extreme confusion at what to do with it and after some glances between the palm and Shidou’s smile, takes. Then, he looks up in question.
With one brush of Shidou’s thumb over his knuckles, Sae almost gives in. Almost. He is so tired. He so wishes he was still someone who used to allow himself to be cared for. He tries tentatively squeezing Shidou’s hand, but twitching is all his fingers can do.

It always starts with a faint, dull kind of aroma; a pinprick scent tickling his nose. A nanosecond was enough for Ainosuke to find himself back to square one as if 8 long years was still not enough for him to make a single step forward. The sweet scent becomes heavier and he feels like he is still 16. His throat feels like sandpaper; his hands colder than winter.
How funny it all was.
The scent that always made him feel warm and happy now made him remember the hollowness of the word love.

His toothy smile spoke volumes, like he was the dominant one in this position. The recliner faced the bed, Hashimoto could tell it was moved deliberately so that Ainosuke could have a front row view of what they had agreed on.
