They were twins — equal, together since the very beginning, with the same blood coursing through their veins. That was a fact. That was what Yuichirou had always known.

Why was it only happening to Mui? Why was he spared? If anything, it should have been him. He should be able to take his suffering away from his brother, Mui didn’t deserve any of it. He wished to somehow help Mui, to do something to ease the pain, but no matter what he tried, it was never enough.

    Why? Why? Why?

    Why was this happening?

    ***

    Summary

“...Neji?” Gai asked, cautiously. The boy winced at his voice. Gai’s eyes widened, “Neji. Neji. Come on, I need you to wake up,” he said in the calmest, mother-hen-esk voice he could muster while gently shaking him.
Slowly, his eyes opened to half-mast and Gai let out a sigh of relief.
“Oh thank God, Neji, do you understand me?”
The boy blinked slowly then groaned as a wave of fresh pain crashed across his face. Gai winced.
“Okay, Neji. If you can understand me, I need you to listen,” he said, returning to the medical equipment. “We’re going to get you back to the hospital. I need you to stay awake. I know you’re tired, but it’s very important that you don’t fall asleep, okay?”

    Summary

So, yes, he wasn’t good with people, and if most of his own colleagues couldn’t understand him, weren’t willing to try, how could anyone else?

That’s what he had thought, anyway.

    But apparently, children were different.

He didn't know how or why, but the children Giyuu encountered over the years seemed to like him and didn’t mind that he was a man of few words.

    OR

Giyuu is a subtle mother hen to children because there was no way he'd let this harsh world chew them up and spit them out.

    Summary

“Master Gojo,” he begins, looking as if he’s choosing his words carefully. “The care-taking instinct comes natural to some,” he begins slowly. “And, in others it lies dormant until something awakens it. Then, there are those in which it never awakens at all.”

Gojo swallows thickly, a sinking feeling filling his gut.

“But… that doesn’t mean it can’t be taught."

    Or

2 years into raising the Fushiguro kids (but only about 5 months into actually trying) Megumi falls severely ill.

Gojo learns the hard way that sometimes his best isn't actually good enough, and that maybe, just maybe, The Strongest can't do everything by himself.

    Summary

For an articulate man, Roy Mustang suddenly struggled to find the correct words.

Every variation the Colonel concocted within his head sounded flimsy, harsh, or downright wrong. Unsettled and sick, the silence stretched between them for a handful of heart-clenching beats as suspicious golden eyes narrowed, continuing to sear into Roy's soul. Realization reared its ugly head and delved a hand right into his chest, poisonous claws digging deep as it whispered odious remarks. He stared at the boy before him, feeling as if he was seeing him for the first time, an entire week's worth of denial crumbling away.

This couldn't be happening, but it was. It was happening, and he had been willfully blind to it like a pathetic coward. He'd chalked the flush of fever as something as simple as a cold. The same applied to the presumption of mood swings linked to age. Even the odd habits Roy had brushed off as quirks or stress...

Never once did Roy think something more malicious had been at play, until now.

"Edward I don t think you are very well right now."
