“What are you staring at, Bridgerton?” Penelope asked, already smiling.
Fuck, I’ve been caught. He thought.
Colin cleared his throat and looked ahead, where the younger Bridgertons were playing in the ocean.
“Me?…” He gave a small, awkward cough. “I was just watching my nieces and nephews playing.”
Penelope let out a sarcastic little laugh, lowered her sunglasses, and let her gaze travel—shamelessly—over every inch of his body as she bit her lip.
Colin was shirtless, wearing nothing but a brown baseball cap turned backward, a pair of sunglasses, and short swim trunks that left his toned thighs on full display. And he felt the exact moment her gaze burned against his skin. It was as if the sun itself had drifted too close.
“I thought I caught you looking at my legs.”
Oh, he definitely had. At her legs, at what lay between them. He looked at all of it.
Or the time Penelope and Colin went on a family vacation together. As friends, of course. But Penelope never made things easy for him, and Colin was always the kind of man to play with fire—even if it meant getting burned.

Penelope glared at him, looking even more pissed off. Colin didn’t blame her.
