Summary
While Harry did deserve better than an arrogant wizard, the Hallows refused to let him break their bond to them and his fated. Even if they did strongly dislike the man their master was bonded to.
So clearly it was time to do what the criminal fraud’s lover used to do and manipulate things for the “greater good.”
Now while they didn’t exactly have the ability to speak, nor sentience, they did have the power in spades to compensate.
So while they couldn’t convince Harry what better person to convince him than the one person he needed to hear it from the most?
After all, who's a better speaker and manipulator than Tom Riddle himself?
And if this Tom Riddle wouldn’t see sense then they would simply have to send a different Tom Riddle Harry’s way.
