“Fuck, not her...” grumbled Ve, sticking her head out further to make sure she wasn’t dreaming.
The woman flashed a cynical smile at Ve. “Good to see you too, cute ass. How long’s it been, huh?”
“Not long enough,” Ve replied, standing to face her, disgust etched on her face. “Because if there’s one fucking person I never wanna owe anything to, it’s you, Ash.”
Ve and Ash stared at each other for a moment in silence, Ve looking much more tense than Ash, who actually seemed amused.
