Summary
“D’ya want one?” Buck mumbles, mouth full of fruit. “They’re good.”
Eddie’s been staring at Buck since he first sauntered into the living room and collapsed on the couch, but it’s gotten more intense since Buck first sunk his teeth into the fruit. The juice is dribbling down his hand and wrist; he’s licking it up, casual, kind of disgusting if Eddie’s being frank, and Eddie wants to die a little bit. Or sit on Buck’s face. It’s a toss-up, at this point.
“No,” Eddie says, and as Buck slurps through another bite, he adds, just a touch petulant, “I don’t like peaches.”Or,
Eddie loves Buck, but Buck's withholding something from him; and Buck loves Eddie, and he's just waiting for Eddie to tell him what he wants.Series

Summary
(keep my hand in yours)
Buck tastes like the beer they drank after they got in, the dumplings they picked up from that good Japanese place just on the corner from the firehouse, like soy sauce and the garlicky sriracha he likes to put on literally everything. It’s the best thing Eddie’s ever tasted. He’s pretty sure he’ll never want to detach his mouth from Buck’s ever again.
Buck does do that, however. Pulls away just a hairbreadth, breathes in sharply through his mouth. A grumpy little whine cuts through the silence of the kitchen like thunder.
“Oh,” Buck whispers, sixty different shades of smug, and Eddie’s face gets all boiling when he realizes the sound came from him. “Huh.”Or,
Buck gives Eddie his world back, and Eddie is in love with him. They go from 0 to a 100 real quick.Series

Summary
Eddie drags a hand over his face, forces himself to look away, but it’s too late. The image is seared into his brain now, lodged deep in the part of him that logic has no power over.
He is fully, shamefully, helplessly thirsting over a complete stranger.
And then the guy laughs.
It’s low and warm, a perfect sound, the kind that sends a shiver down Eddie’s spine and makes his stomach clench. His willpower crumbles like a sandcastle as he risks another glance.
Huge mistake.
The guy is looking right at him.
His head tilts slightly, amusement flickering across his perfect features and he grins.
He knows.
Eddie clears his throat and abruptly turns away, shoving his attention back to his coffee before he does something stupid, like hold eye contact for too long. Or worse…smile back.
“You’re pathetic.”
“I know.”
Or; Alternative meeting, Eddie and Buck meet in a coffee shop and fall in love in seven days.

Summary
Hen stares at Buck for a long moment, then turns on her heel to walk upstairs. “Chim! Did you know that Peanut is a human child and not a small animal?”
“Buck’s Peanut?” Chim calls back, leaning over the railing. “No? Is she not a dog?”
“No!” Buck replies. “She’s a preschooler!”OR: At 22, Buck got one of his hookups pregnant and decided to keep the baby himself rather than let her be put up for adoption. At 26, he joined the 118. You know the rest, right?

Summary
When the firefighter walks into Eddie's coffeeshop, Eddie immediately knows two things about him: he's not human, and he's the love of Eddie's life.
Oh, he knows a bunch of other things too, obviously. He's about thirty, a few months younger than Eddie himself. He has a scar on his throat, like he got stabbed there, and one of his legs has some metal rods in it that must have come from a bad injury. The guy doesn't know he's not human, which is a tricky thing to figure out, but Eddie's almost positive. Most of the non-humans he knows have always known they aren't people, but there are exceptions, and they tend to carry themselves differently. Ana before her first full moon as a werewolf had a very different vibe from Ana after.
The firefighter moves like he knows he doesn't belong, but not like he knows why. Like he's afraid of taking up space, afraid of being noticed.
As if Eddie is even capable of not noticing him.
