To be honest, I like fics with more character involvement, but this was…I’m not sure I have the right word to describe it. Not bad—don’t get me wrong. It’s good, really good. Yeah. And, there’s a quote from this I hold so dear to my heart: “It’s not the same, but it’s not like before.” I have lived by this ever since.
This fic is real, and heavy, and raw. Maybe my aversion isn’t to fics with minimal external character involvement, but to fics that give my heart a stutter and make me feel like I’m in a real-life canon of what’s supposed to be fiction. It scares me, and maybe I’m still reluctant to admit that, but, this is good.
