Pomni doesn't want to be here in any sense of the word. But even outside of the concept of an Exit, there's no way out. No death beyond Abstraction, and she refuses to let herself succumb to such a fate.
So that leaves one option: find a reason to WANT to stay.

Summary
After a grueling adventure, Ragatha tries to make sense of reality, only to realize that reality is slipping into the past.
Pomni grows closer to the circus, adapting in a desperate attempt to find something real within her new reality.

Summary
At the end of the day, even as the big-top tent fractures and the circus threatens to cave in, Ragatha is still stuck in that dining room, pinned to her chair at one end of a long table. The shadow at the far side watches her. Ragatha cannot leave.

Summary
They can't die, as they've all ruminated extensively over, but in that moment Ragatha looks as if she had seen a ghost. The ragdoll's legs feel like they're filled with wet sand instead of their usual mix of beads and cotton, but she wills herself to move regardless. She manages to get about an arm's length away from Pomni as the jester finally meets the hard ground plane. And oh, god, the human sounding crunch of nonexistent bone that resounded when she lands. Pomni makes a winded sound, more shocked than necessarily pained. The ragdoll landed in a heap just beside her, but she's quickly at Pomni's side.
Pomni groans as Ragatha slowly collects her from the ground, cradling the jester in her soft arms.
"What the f%$!# were you thinking?!" Ragatha's uncharacteristically harsh tone hurts her more than the fall.
"I wasn't..." Pomni moans. Oh, she's so f%$!#ing stupid. Ragatha's definitely not laughing now.

The circus crew go on what's supposed to be a nice, relaxing, and (most importantly) short, hiking adventure. Pomni manages to find a way to make it none of those things for Ragatha when she falls out of a tree.
