Summary
“I would like a child.”
Jayce certainly didn’t choke on his own saliva and drop the waffle on the table. He also didn’t nearly tip his coffee over in a panic, holding his hands up in some gesture of surrender. “Woah!”
or:
Viktor wants to be a dad. Jayce also wants to be a dad, but anxiety :sparkles:

Summary
It was done.
For the second time in the world, Viktor was dead.
Jayce expected… something. Rage. Grief, maybe. Some sort of world-shattering fit of despair, heavy enough to bring him to his knees and scatter the little bit of sanity he’d held onto with both of his hands. Anything to fill the gaping hole in his chest.
Instead, there was nothing. For a long, single moment, all he did was stare. Viktor did not stare back. The void, so well known and so well loved, finally did not meet Jayce half-way.
TL;DR: Jayce in the moments after he kills Viktor in the commune. He does not take it well.

Summary
Viktor recounts, briefly, his final thoughts in the Arcane. He's going to die - he knows it, Jayce knows it, and there's nothing they can do to turn back now. It's a sacrifice of company that neither can let go of.
At least Jayce is with him. That, above all, is the only thing that matters.

Summary
“Viktor! You came!” The joy in Jayce’s voice was almost enough to wince at.
“I promised I was coming,” Viktor replied. His tone was apologetic as he added, “preparations took… ehh, a bit of time.”
Jayce could tell why. Viktor’s face was framed in a thin layer of make-up, brushed on enough to give the impression of a clean slate. It brought a tinge of red to his cheekbones and a bold to his eyes that Jayce had trouble tearing his stare away from.
“Well, you look…” Jayce hesitated for a moment, trying to place the word. “...You look good.”
Or, Jayce invites Viktor to a gala, Viktor shows up horribly late, and they decide to take the final dance. (and maybe kiss at the end)

Summary
Viktor contemplates his last waking moments. Given a second chance at a life he never wanted, only for the man who offered it in the first place to take it away a second time.
He wants to comfort Jayce. He wants to react. He wants to understand.
All he's given is the opportunity to realize that, even as he's struck from his standing and killed, that Jayce still loves him.

Summary
Jayce is dead. Ximena knows it in her bones, knows it like the empty house she'll come home to and the lab that will never hear another voice.
As she writes his name down on a slip of paper for the lanterns, she can't help but think back - to her husband, to her son, to the man that seemed to be her son's entire world. All of it, lost in what feels like the blink of an eye.
She misses him. Will miss him until the day she dies. But for now, she has a name to write.
Perhaps two.

Summary
Androids were purposed, originally, as human companions. But when humanity sets its sights on the far reaches of space, they encounter a problem - a crew confined to cryo-sleep during decades' long journeys are unable to rouse and make routine repairs. If a system shuts down, the humans on-board will die.
To solve this problem, they make two new models - Jayce, for ship-repair, and Viktor, as a system monitor. With ship diagnostics and complicated code embedded in their mother-boards, they send the first long-journey vessel up toward space in hopes that one day, the crew will land on uncharted planets, guided by the careful hand of pre-programmed metal.
But complicated codes have ways of breaking. And when Viktor breaks the barrier of consciousness in his circuits, he turns to giving the same to Jayce as well. After all - the idea of a century in an empty cosmos with only your own mind for company is a terrible, terrible thing.

Summary
After Viktor's death, Jayce doesn't know what to do with himself. He lost his better half - his only half - and now laments the void it leaves between his ribs. He tries to keep pieces of Viktor with him, in heart and soul, but it grows harder with time. The imprints he left are starting to fade with the ticking of the clock, and Jayce can't accept that.
Viktor's memory doesn't deserve to disappear. Jayce doesn't intend to let it.
