Summary
Nearly a year after saving the world from Maruki's reality, the former Phantom Thieves gather in Tokyo to celebrate New Years during a once-in-a-lifetime meteor shower that illuminates the city sky with shooting stars. What unfolds shortly after proves that the Thieves still have some unfinished business when a new form of the Metaverse appears, curiously called the Metatheater, where the Phantom Thieves are told not to steal any treasures or take anyone's hearts, but to unmask one another instead in one-on-one "performances" that get surprisingly serious when the Thieves are told the winner will be able to use a fallen star to make one wish.
At the center of it all, the former leader continues to dance around his own feelings.

It must have been resting on the edge and lost the fight to gravity. A reasonable explanation. He knelt down to pick it up and paused with his hand hovering over the cover. His fingers trembled slightly as he read the title.
