    After a lifetime of war filled with regrets and struggle, Bruce Wayne looks out over a Gotham at peace and realises his work is done. The city no longer needs its Dark Knight. Determined to secure its future, he seeks a successor who embodies hope, not fear. His choice is Kara Zor-El, a girl desperate to escape her loneliness and prove she can be a hero.

    Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to any of the Justice League characters. I'm just having a bit of fun!
    Notes: I have been working on this meshed-up idea for a while, so we will see where it leads. In this alternate/warped universe, Zatanna started in the Teen Titans before moving to the Justice League. I ignore the idea of a shared childhood between Zee and Bruce and have made him older than her. I've played fast and loose with some of the backstories and story lines, so if you're super precious about that, you might not enjoy it. If you, like me, want to see some ZZ/BW fic, hop on board! It's angsty!...duh, it's Bruce Wayne. ;)
