Gently, his fingers found a curl about Henry’s ear. Brown, soft on the pads of his skin, warm from the redness of his flesh.
The strand extended when he pulled, unfurling outwards into a lock of hair so much longer than Hans could’ve predicted. Chestnut under the glow of the candles.
“Shit,” he grinned, playing with it a little, “it really has grown, hasn’t it?”

Summary
In a span of no more than three days, Henry has rescued Hans Capon from Maleshov, served King Sigismund in Kuttenberg, and help those attacked at Raborsch and in the Jewish Quarter. With his exhaustion comes struggle and a flurry of emotions.
"Inter Officium et Spem; Between Duty and Hope" is a spin off of "Nunc Scio Quid Sit Amor" and is a rewrite in Henry's POV during events that take place in Chapter Three. That being said, it can be read without having read NSQSA.
