Summary

Being placed in an ordinary high school, life proves to be difficult while keeping the appearance of a seemingly normal life up . Four years and a blooming friendship later, the missions are getting more intense and the nightmares more frequent. She’s struggling with her loyalty to the Red Room while protecting the few she learned to love, but knows there’s something worse than death waiting for her if she betrays her motherland.

It was slightly before 9pm when Dot and Phryne pulled up to House of Fleuri. The Hispano had just passed under the arch behind the shop when they caught a glimpse of a foot. Then a leg. Then a torso, neck, head, and, finally, a very familiar fedora. Phryne stopped the car and both women turned and tilted their heads to look up simultaneously.
“Is that who I think it is?” Phryne asked.
“Afraid so, miss,” Dot replied with a grimace.

Jack's always been a cautious man, preferring to part with information only when absolutely necessary. Telling unfamiliar people that he can't remember anything beyond a battlefield in France doesn't strike him as necessary, not when he's already begun to piece together the situation for himself. The war is over, and he's returned to his life as a police officer. Apparently whatever case he's working is not going particularly well.
