Beth looks down at her, brows furrowed in obvious confusion at her sudden tension.
Her lack of immediate response has the tension rising. She squeezes her arms around Beth's leg desperately.
“You won't, right?”
“Of course not, don't be ridiculous,” Beth replies, craning down so she can see her face, still looking as baffled as if she'd started speaking Chinese. “You're not oblivious. You know I'm not ever going to get married.”
