Summary
In the year 2082, Fushiguro Megumi lies on his deathbed, full of regrets.
His time was over. He was frail, weak, yet he could not do anything to alleviate the guilt of his failure.
He wished he could've done better, yet Fate was unchallenged, and he was its jester. Even in death, his only solace was that he gets to spend his time with his loved ones.
That is, until his mentor offers a choice of two directions.
One day, Megumi sees the future -- what it coalesces into. His future self, now restricted of autonomy and his story unable to be told, has to give him bits and pieces in order to have his past self survive, and one day triumph over the Fate that toyed with him until he died a fool.
(TL;DR: Megumi meets his future self from the Modulo timeline who died, and is now trying to avoid the fate that his future self once suffered.)
